My thoughts before I started reading

When I heard we were going to read a book, I was really glad, especially when I knew it was an utopian novel. I read a lot and above all, I like novels set in the future or all kinds of fantasy/adventure.  :)

I’ve only read one book in english on my own before, a short novel, and a few stories on wattpad. These were all pretty easy to read, written without complicate formulations or difficult words. So I didn’t know if it was going to be hard for me to understand.

Even if 'The Giver' is a quit famous book, I neither knew the novel nor the movie (which was in the theaters one and a half year ago).

By the title you can not quess anything about the story, but the blurb introduces you to Jonas, who 'seems to live in a perfect world' and hints the topics of 'The Giver' : dark secrets and memories.

I did not expect much action, but more of a story of a boy who is questioning the world he lives in.

  1. My thougts were actually totally different to the thougts of Clara. I haven´t read a book since few years and especially not an english written book. So I didn´t not what I should think about this exercise. Another point which reduced my expectations was that I didn`t know what I should think about the topic. A world where the life is structured overall and where all are the same and everything is happening the right way seems very boring to me and I´m happy that our world isn´t like that one.
Also I worried about how it would be to read an english novel. Will I just read it without understanding anything or would it may be easy to get the cause.
Despite the worries I had about it can I say that I´m very curious about teading the first pages.

I would be interested in your opinions about the beginning of the book guys , so let me hear, if you liked it or not.

    Good night!
