When I heard we were going to read a book, I was really glad, especially when I knew it was an utopian
novel. I read a lot and above all, I like novels set in the future or all kinds of fantasy/adventure. :)
I’ve only read one book in english
on my own before, a short novel, and a few stories on wattpad. These were
all pretty easy to read, written without complicate formulations or difficult
words. So I didn’t know if it was going to be hard for me to understand.
Even if 'The Giver' is a quit famous book, I neither knew the novel nor the movie (which was in the theaters one and a half year ago).
By the title you can not quess anything about the story, but the blurb introduces you to Jonas, who 'seems to live in a perfect world' and hints the topics of 'The Giver' : dark secrets and memories.
I did not expect much action, but more of a story of a boy who is questioning the world he lives in.
